Cairo, Egypt – A source within the Egyptian Football Association confirmed that Hossam Hassan and his assistant staff will continue to lead the Egyptian national team during the next stage, most notably participation in the 2026 World Cup, stressing that the decision is final and irrevocable.
The source explained that the technical staff delivered good performances during the African Cup of Nations tournament held in Morocco, noting that the team displayed a high fighting spirit in all matches.
He added that the loss to Senegal in the semi-finals will not affect the coaching staff’s position, especially given the positive performance the players have shown throughout the tournament.
He added that the federation has already begun, in coordination with Hossam Hassan, to develop a comprehensive preparation program for the World Cup, which includes overseas training camps and strong friendly matches during the coming period.
