Rabat, Morocco – International newspapers highlighted the exciting victory of the Egyptian national team over Ivory Coast with a score of (3-2), and its qualification for the semi-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, in a match they described as epic.

Egypt secured its place among the top four, after defeating the defending champion thanks to a hat-trick scored by Omar Marmoush, Rami Rabia and Mohamed Salah, while Ivory Coast’s goals were scored by Ahmed Fatouh (own goal) and Joëla Doué.

The Spanish newspaper AS described the Egyptian national team as “the beast that has awakened,” stressing that the Pharaohs showed their true face under the leadership of the duo Omar Marmoush and Mohamed Salah, and considered them a “two-headed beast” looking to regain the throne of the African continent, which the Egyptian national team has won 7 times before.

Mundo Deportivo praised Mohamed Salah’s performance, noting that he played his best match of the tournament, scoring one goal and creating another, leading Egypt towards an anticipated semi-final clash against Senegal.

For its part, Marca confirmed that the Africa Cup of Nations proceeded without surprises until Salah and Marmoush decided to overthrow the title holder, opening the way for Egypt towards the semi-finals, awaiting a difficult test against Senegal.

Sport highlighted the strong attacking performance of the Egyptian national team, praising the Pharaohs’ effectiveness in front of the goal and their ability to exploit opportunities with high precision, which decided the match in their favor.

In England, the Daily Mail reported that Mohamed Salah had taken another step closer to achieving his continental dream, after leading Egypt to eliminate Ivory Coast, confirming that the Pharaohs continued their historic superiority over the “Elephants” in the Africa Cup of Nations.

As the Guardian headlined: “Salah leads Egypt to the semi-finals,” noting that the Egyptian team needed precision more than possession to win the difficult match.

Meanwhile, the BBC confirmed that Salah decided one of the most exciting quarter-final matches, keeping Egypt’s dream of an eighth title alive, before a tough anticipated match against Senegal.
