Cairo, Egypt – Dutchman Arne Slot, the manager of Liverpool, commented on his team’s loss to Nottingham Forest in the English Premier League.

Liverpool’s poor run of form in the Premier League continued as they suffered another defeat, this time a 3-0 loss to Nottingham Forest at Anfield on Saturday, in the 12th round of the competition.

“Another big disappointment,” Slot told the BBC after the match. “We started well for the first half hour, but after conceding the goal we couldn’t maintain the same level of performance we had at the beginning.”

He added, “Whether things go well or badly, that’s my responsibility. We simply didn’t create enough opportunities.”

He continued: “I tried to adjust some things, but things didn’t work out. We couldn’t score a goal. You never know in this stadium, if you score a goal, things might improve.”

He added: “In a few days, we play in the Champions League, then we have three Premier League matches in a short period of time. So I tell the players to hold their heads high and work hard, we are doing our best every day.”

He concluded, “It’s always beneficial to have experienced and competent players. Things aren’t going well at the moment.”

The loss left Liverpool with 18 points in 11th place, while Nottingham Forest moved up to 12 points in 16th place.
