Cairo, Egypt – Al-Hilal secured a resounding 4-2 victory over Al-Najma in their Saudi Professional League match this evening.
Al-Hilal visited Al-Najma at the latter’s stadium, as part of the eighth round of the Roshan Professional League.
Al-Najma took the lead in the 3rd minute through Lazaro Vinicius, after a mistake by Al-Hilal goalkeeper Yassine Bounou in clearing the ball. The ball fell to Vinicius, who fired a long-range shot into the net.
Al-Hilal responded quickly with an equalizer in the tenth minute. This came after a pass from Mutaib Al-Harbi to Salem Al-Dawsari, who received it and then fired a shot into the net.
In the 57th minute of the second half, Al-Najma player Lazaro received a red card. This came after a strong tackle that the referee reassessed after consulting VAR.
In the 60th minute, Al-Najma regained their lead, thanks to an own goal by Ruben Neves.
The drama continued as the referee showed another red card to Al-Najma defender Jawad Al-Yamiq. This compounded the home side’s woes, forcing them to finish the match with nine players.
In the 78th minute, Ruben Neves scored Al Hilal’s third goal. This came after his free kick deflected off an Al Najma defender and into the net.
Salem Al-Dawsari completed Al-Hilal’s four goals in the 90th minute, after a mistake by Al-Najma’s defense which he exploited and shot a ball into the net.

Meanwhile, Al-Najma’s struggles continued as they suffered their eighth consecutive defeat, remaining at the bottom of the table without a single point.
