London, Britain – Former England captain David Beckham has been officially knighted
by King Charles III in recognition of his services to football and British society.
His official name is now Sir David , and Victoria Beckham is now Mrs. Beckham.
David expressed his pride in this honor,
and considered the monarchy important to his family.
He noted that he had spent his life representing England and that he loved his country.
Football star David retired in 2013.
He played 115 matches for the England national team and represented
Manchester United, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, AC Milan and Los Angeles Galaxy.
