Cairo, Egypt – Egyptian Ibrahim Adel led Al Jazira to the quarterfinals of the President’s Cup, after defeating Ajman 2-1 in the round of 16 match held Sunday evening.
Al Jazira met Ajman at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in the round of 16 of the UAE President’s Cup.
Al Jazira took the lead in the 31st minute, after Ibrahim Adel dribbled past the Orange defenders and played a cross that was completed by Ajman’s Abdulrahman Rakan, who mistakenly headed it into his own net.
It wasn’t long before Ajman equalized in the 37th minute, courtesy of Victor Henrico, who met a cross from Salem with a shot from inside the penalty area that found the net.
Ibrahim Adel scored Al Jazira’s second goal in the 43rd minute, following up on a cross inside the penalty area.
With this result, Al Jazira qualified for the quarter-finals of the UAE President’s Cup.
