Brussels, Belgium – The horse “Al-Zir” was crowned champion of the President’s Cup for Purebred Arabian Horses at its eleventh Belgian station.
Which was held yesterday at Wargem Racecourse. This was part of the racing agenda of the thirty-second edition of the precious cup.
The Cup races confirmed their strong presence in the European racing scene.
It has also established itself as one of the most prestigious and expensive world classic races.
This was amid a large crowd that filled the stands of Wargem Racecourse, amounting to about 50,000 spectators.
The five-year-old champion, Al-Zeer, succeeded in providing a distinguished performance in the race. The race was held over a distance of 2,170 meters in the third category for horses aged four years and above. The prize was worth 200,000 euros.
Al-Jawad is descended from (Al-Ma’mun Monlu× Asma Al-Khalidiya bint Amer), owned by Muhammad bin Fahd Al-Attiyah.
Under the supervision of coach François Roho, and under the leadership of jockey Luca Dolozier.
The race witnessed the lead of the horse “Joe Star,” a descendant of (Al-Murtajaz × Just del Vallot bint Gorman). It was owned by Nasser Hilal Al-Alawi, and participated in the group of 12 horses.
He remained ahead until the last meters, before “Al-Zeer” snatched the lead in the decisive last moments.
Thus, Al-Zeer achieved an impressive victory and an important triumph in his career.
Al-zeer covered the race distance in a time of 2:24:01 minutes, with a neck difference from “Joe Star”. “Joe Star” came second.
Thirdly, “Nabuku the Mori” (Asi × Nimozi the Mori bint Kasbroi) came.
The race was attended. The winners were crowned by Faisal Al-Rahmani, Secretary General of the Supreme Organizing Committee for the President’s Cup Series for Arabian Horses.
In addition to Faisal, Khaled Al-Qaidi, representative of the State Embassy in the Kingdom of Belgium, was present. Nelly Filippo Herman, President of the Arabian Horse Federation in Belgium, was also there.
