Abu Dhabi, UAE – Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Suhail Al Mazrouei, said that the UAE’s current production of renewable energy has reached 6.8 gigawatts.

He pointed out that the volume of investments in the renewable energy sector amounts to 189 billion dirhams.

This came during the third edition of the Emirates Energy Forum 2025.

Organized by the Ministry in Abu Dhabi, with broad participation from decision-makers, sector leaders, and strategic partners.

In addition, the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure revealed that dedicated stations for high-speed electric chargers will be deployed nationwide.

It will also reduce the charging time for electric cars to approximately 10 minutes.

She pointed out that the first station will be launched in Ajman next month.

In detail, the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure in Abu Dhabi organized the third edition of the Emirates Energy Forum 2025.

With broad participation from decision makers, sector leaders and strategic partners.

This is part of a comprehensive national platform that aims to accelerate the energy sector’s transformation and enhance its readiness for future requirements.

Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Suhail Al Mazrouei, said during the forum that the UAE has developed the “Energy Strategy 2050” plan, which aims to triple renewable energy.

He pointed out that the country’s current production of renewable energy has reached 6.8 gigawatts.

He added that the UAE is one of the first countries to generate solar energy around the clock, with the presence of storage batteries and investment in the field of artificial intelligence.

Al Mazrouei pointed out that data centers and artificial intelligence applications require large amounts of energy.

This is what the UAE seeks to provide by increasing its investments, both in clean and conventional energy.

He stated that the volume of UAE investments in the renewable energy sector reaches 189 billion dirhams.

While the Ministry works to increase energy efficiency, through an initiative to reduce consumption in government buildings.

He stressed that there are currently no plans to increase nuclear energy production in the “Energy Strategy”.

Al Mazrouei said that the Emirates Energy Forum reflects the country’s firm commitment to building a sustainable and resilient energy sector capable of keeping pace with global transformations.

He pointed out that the UAE Energy Status Report is a national reference that documents the extent of progress achieved and outlines the features of the next phase of the sector’s transformation process, based on effective partnerships, innovation, and data-driven policy formulation, thus strengthening the UAE’s position as a leading global center for clean energy and sustainable development.
