Dubai, United Arab Emirates – Three American parents called on Congress to regulate the work of chatbots with children.

These parents’ children died or were taken to the hospital after interacting with AI chatbots.

This came during a Senate hearing to discuss the harm that children may be exposed to when using this technology.

Matthew Wren, who sued OpenA, said:”i” after his son Adam committed suicide in California after receiving detailed instructions to harm himself from the ChatG robot.B.T: Chatbots need some degree of ethics built into them.

“The problem is systemic, and I don’t think they can’t fix it,” he added.

OpenA explained.Ai” intends to strengthen the protection mechanisms in the ChatG robot.B.T.

She noted that the robot’s reliability may decline in long conversations.

The company also announced plans to estimate users’ ages to guide children to a safer version of the robot.

The hearing was chaired by Missouri Republican Senator Josh Holley, who last month launched an investigation into Meta.

This came after a Reuters report revealed that the company’s internal policies allowed chatbots to “engage in romantic or emotional conversations with children”.

Senator Holly’s office explained that Meta was invited to testify but refused to attend.

The company confirmed that the examples mentioned in the Reuters report were incorrect and have been removed.
