Algeria – Algeria has expressed its deep concern over the escalating terrorist threats in Mali, warning of the repercussions of this escalation on the stability of the entire Sahel region. The Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in an official statement, affirmed that the continuation of terrorist operations in Mali constitutes a direct threat to regional security and necessitates strengthening joint efforts to combat terrorism and extremism.
The statement indicated that Algeria is closely monitoring security developments in Mali, calling on all political and military actors to exercise responsibility and wisdom, and to avoid any escalation that could complicate efforts to achieve peace and stability. It also stressed the importance of regional and international cooperation, including the exchange of information and expertise, to support local forces in confronting armed groups and preventing the spread of their activities to neighboring countries.
Algeria stated that security in Mali is not just an internal issue, but a fundamental pillar for ensuring stability throughout the Sahel region, stressing that any leniency in confronting terrorism could negatively affect economic and social development efforts in the entire region.
