Baghdad, Iraq – Iraqi Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr condemned the bombing that targeted a mosque in Pakistan, which resulted in deaths and injuries. He emphasized that targeting places of worship constitutes a crime against humanity and morality, requiring a firm international stance to confront terrorism in all its forms.

In a statement, al-Sadr stressed the need to unify regional and international efforts to combat extremist organizations that seek to spread chaos and destabilize the country by targeting civilians and holy sites. He also emphasized the importance of promoting a discourse of moderation and tolerance to counter extremist ideology.

The attack comes at a time when some areas of Pakistan are witnessing an escalation in security threats, particularly with the targeting of religious gatherings and public places. These events have prompted authorities to tighten security measures and launch extensive investigations to uncover the circumstances of the incident and identify those responsible.

Observers believe that the continued political and religious condemnations may contribute to unifying positions against terrorism. However, the greatest challenge remains addressing the root causes of extremism and strengthening security and intelligence cooperation between countries to prevent the recurrence of such bloody attacks.
