Tehran, Iran – Iranian media reported that an earthquake struck the city of Asaluyeh in Bushehr province, southern Iran, this morning, with no reported casualties or damage. According to the same sources, the earthquake measured 2.5 on the Richter scale and occurred at a depth of 18 kilometers, approximately 24 kilometers from Asaluyeh. Therefore, it was felt to a limited extent by residents in nearby areas. Following the tremor, Kourosh Dehghan, Director General of Crisis Management in Bushehr province, stated that the earthquake had not caused any damage so far. He also confirmed that field monitoring was ongoing in anticipation of any developments.

For his part, a senior manager in passive defense and emergency response at petrochemical companies in the Pars Special Economic Energy Zone explained to Iranian media that the earthquake did not cause any damage or injuries within the region’s petrochemical complexes and projects. Asaluyeh is a vital industrial area in Bushehr province, home to major energy and petrochemical facilities. Therefore, any seismic activity in Asaluyeh is closely monitored by the relevant authorities.
