Niamey, Niger – Authorities in Niger announced the neutralization of more than 72 terrorists during simultaneous security and military operations carried out in various parts of the country, as part of a broad campaign to eradicate terrorism and pursue armed groups.
Security sources explained that the operations targeted hideouts and strongholds of extremist elements operating along the borders and in some remote areas. They also resulted in the dismantling of terrorist networks and the seizure of quantities of weapons, ammunition, and communication equipment used to plan attacks against civilians and security forces.
Authorities confirmed that these strikes are part of a comprehensive strategy to strengthen stability and establish security control. Furthermore, they aim to protect citizens, emphasizing that operations will continue relentlessly until the complete elimination of terrorist threats.
The government stressed that coordination between security and military agencies played a crucial role in the success of the field operations. It also pledged to continue proactive measures to thwart any plots targeting the country’s security.
