Shabwa, Yemen – The Southern Giants Brigades announced today that their air defenses successfully shot down a drone belonging to the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militia in the Bayhan district of Shabwa Governorate (southeastern Yemen). The official media center of the Giants Brigades reported that the air defenses detected the Iranian-made drone as soon as it entered the district’s airspace. It was then engaged with precision and professionalism, and shot down before reaching its intended military or civilian targets.
Constant resistance and failed missions
According to military sources, the Houthi drone was attempting to carry out hostile missions, including reconnaissance and surveillance of Southern Forces positions on the western fronts of Shabwa Governorate.
This incident comes amidst the Houthi militias’ continued attempts to penetrate the governorate’s airspace using drones. They are also exploiting the proximity of the Bayhan fronts to areas under their control in the neighboring Al-Bayda Governorate.
High combat readiness
The Giants Brigades Command confirmed that its air defense units and military units stationed on various battlefronts are at maximum readiness. These units continue to monitor and precisely counter all air and ground threats. The Command also emphasized that its operational theater will remain a graveyard for Houthi drones and ambitions that seek to destabilize the security and stability of the liberated areas.
