Islamabad, Pakistan – A 5.8 magnitude earthquake struck a wide area of Pakistan, triggering widespread panic among residents. Authorities have not yet received reports of casualties or significant building damage.

The Pakistan Geological Survey reported that the earthquake’s epicenter was deep underground, several kilometers from major cities, which lessened the intensity of the tremors at the surface. However, the tremors were felt in several neighboring provinces, including Punjab and Sindh.

Local authorities urged residents to exercise caution and avoid fragile buildings. Emergency teams surveyed the most affected areas to ensure there were no injuries or property damage, confirming that the situation is currently under control.

The earthquake occurred during a relatively cold season in Pakistan, raising concerns about the safety of infrastructure in rural areas, where some older buildings remain vulnerable.
