Tehran, Iran – The past 24 hours have witnessed a bloody escalation in the clashes that have gripped iranian for ten days.

Highlights
  • Heavy toll of victims and human losses
  • Field testimonies: “Killing is like a game”
  • Statistics of security sources

Human rights sources have confirmed that at least 36 people have been killed so far.

The figures reveal a worsening humanitarian tragedy, affecting minors and security personnel.

This comes amid field reports indicating the extensive use of live ammunition and shotguns in suppressing the demonstrations.

Heavy toll of victims and human losses

According to the latest report issued by the human rights agency HRANA, the number of iranian victims during the past ten days was distributed as follows:

The dead: At least 36 dead, including 4 minors under the age of eighteen.

Security forces: Two members of the security forces have been confirmed killed in the total toll.

Injuries: Dozens of injuries were recorded among the protesters, most of which resulted from the use of hunting rifles and rubber bullets.

In a development on the ground, the agency has identified three victims who died in the past 24 hours.

The victims are: Mohammad Reza Karami, Lieutenant Ehsan Aghajani, and Ali Golforoush.

Field testimonies: “Killing is like a game”

In a poignant account reflecting the brutality of the clashes, wildlife photographer Sadegh Parvizadeh posted

a video on his Instagram account detailing how he was shot in the face and eye.

Parvizadeh showed samples of the bullets that were fired at him. He said bitterly:

“The person who shot me was a teenager who was not yet twenty years old.

What is going through my mind is that killing a human being has become like hunting prey or just a game for him.”

Statistics of security sources

For its part, the Tasnim News Agency, which is close to the security establishment,

revealed the extent of the injuries among the forces affiliated with the authority.

The agency reported that approximately 568 security personnel and 66 members

of the Basij militia have been injured since the protests began until yesterday evening.

It detailed the nature of these injuries: 152 from shotgun pellets, 11 from stab wounds, and two from live ammunition.
