Tel Aviv, Israel – A senior Israeli security official said that the terrorist attack that targeted Jewish celebrations of the Festival of Lights “Hanukkah” on Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia,

This comes as part of a campaign led by Iran and its proxies against Israelis and Jews around the world.

The newspaper “Israel Hayom” quoted the unnamed official as saying that recent months have witnessed

a marked escalation in Iran’s activity to organize attacks against Israeli and Jewish targets worldwide.

He stressed that “the direction and infrastructure of this attack originated in Tehran.”

He added that these activities are carried out with the support of Hezbollah and Hamas,

as part of a broader strategy.

To target Jews and Israelis in several countries, including Australia.

The security source indicated that the Australian government had previously

taken limited measures against the Iranian embassy.

This includes the expulsion of the ambassador, based on intelligence warnings,

confirming that the Sydney attack falls within this context.

In the same context, Jeremy Leipler, a leader of the Australian Jewish community, told the Times of Israel:

Australian authorities are investigating the possibility of Iranian involvement in the attack.

He noted that the Australian Foreign Ministry had informed him

that investigations were underway, reflecting a real possibility of Tehran’s involvement.

The attack has so far killed 12 people, including one of the attackers.

This is one of the deadliest incidents Australia has seen in recent years.
