Beirut, Lebanon – Israel launched airstrikes on areas in southern Lebanon after midnight, targeting Hezbollah sites including a training compound and military installations.
The Israeli army confirmed that these sites were being used to prepare attacks against the state. It deemed the strikes necessary to prevent the rebuilding of Hezbollah’s military capabilities.
The Lebanese National News Agency reported that the airstrikes damaged several homes in Jbaa and surrounding areas. Meanwhile, the Lebanese army continues to implement its plan to disarm Hezbollah according to a set timetable. This is being carried out under the supervision of the ceasefire monitoring committee. Further meetings between Lebanese and Israeli representatives are scheduled to begin on December 19.
