Europe – Storm Dara is sweeping across a large number of European countries today, causing widespread disruption to transportation. Airlines have been forced to cancel more than 100 flights, while local authorities have declared a state of emergency in some of the worst-affected areas.
Strong winds and heavy rain caused partial flooding, prompting authorities to evacuate thousands of residents from their homes for their safety. Warnings have been issued that the severe weather will continue in the coming hours.
Some train lines and highways were also disrupted. Emergency teams are working to address landslides and remove fallen trees to facilitate traffic flow.
Experts have warned that the storm will continue. They also stressed that Dara could cause further disruptions to transportation and public services if necessary precautions are not taken.
