Jordan – The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan denied on Sunday the veracity of reports circulating in Arab and Syrian media outlets. These reports claimed that a delegation from Syria’s Suwaida Governorate had visited the Kingdom to “discuss a roadmap for resolving the situation in southern Syria.”
The official Jordanian news agency, Petra, quoted an official source as saying, “There is no visit today, Sunday, by a delegation from the Suwaida governorate to the Kingdom.” The source added, emphasizing that what was published “is inaccurate and does not reflect the actual arrangements underway.”
Continued coordination to implement the “roadmap”
The source explained that Jordan is continuing its efforts in coordination with the Syrian government and the United States. The goal is to implement the “roadmap” agreed upon by the three countries on September 16, 2025, which aims to establish security and stability in southern Syria.
The source confirmed that the “roadmap” does indeed include a visit by residents of Suwaida to Jordan. However, a date has not yet been set, in an attempt to clarify the information circulating.
