Moscow, Russia – The Russian army announced today that it had made new field advances in the Zaporizhzhia axis,
confirming its complete control over the strategic town of Ospenivka, amid escalating fighting in southern Ukraine.
The Russian Defense Ministry stated in its statement
that Russian army forces were able to “liberate the town after fierce battles”
This resulted in heavy losses for Ukrainian forces in terms of personnel and equipment.”
Control of land passage
She noted that military engineering units had begun combing
the area and removing mines left behind by the withdrawing Ukrainian forces.
This advance is part of a series of offensive operations launched
by Russian army on the Zaporizhzhia front.
This is with the aim of strengthening its defensive positions
and expanding its control over the land corridor linking Russia and the Crimean Peninsula.
Kyiv: We will continue fighting
In contrast, Kyiv announced that its forces “continue to fight to regain lost positions.”
Moscow is accused of intensifying air and artillery strikes in
an attempt to achieve a symbolic victory before winter arrives.
This development comes amid escalating tensions on the ground
and increasing indications that the war is entering a new phase of
a long and open conflict on more than one front.
