The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) has announced it is stepping up its humanitarian efforts. The goal is to provide urgent food assistance to areas hit by Cyclone Melissa, which caused widespread devastation and displaced thousands of families in several countries along its path.

The program said in an official statement that relief teams are working around the clock. The goal is to provide food, water, and emergency supplies to the affected population. Special attention is being given to supporting the most vulnerable groups, particularly children, women, and the elderly.

It is worth noting that Hurricane Melissa caused widespread flooding and landslides, prompting the United Nations to call for increased international support. The goal is to help the affected countries recover from the disaster and rebuild damaged infrastructure.
