Tehran, Iran – Social media activists have been circulating news about the involvement of Meysam, the son of Iranian Supreme Leader Khamenei, in corruption,

Highlights
  • Iranian denial
  • Distorting the image of the Iranian leadership
  • Western criticism
  • A malicious rumor

revealed by reports that he owns a hotel in the Hungarian capital, Budapest.

Under the guise of sending aid to the Gaza Strip, which is untrue

Iranian denial

Following the widespread dissemination of this news,

an Iranian official denied the veracity of the online reports claiming that Khamenei’s son,

The son of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei bought a hotel in the Hungarian capital,

Budapest, to finance aid destined for the Gaza Strip.

He asserted that these claims were “completely false and fabricated.”

Distorting the image of the Iranian leadership

The official explained, in statements carried by local media, that those behind these allegations

“seek to distort the image of the Iranian leadership by spreading baseless lies.”

He stressed that the dissemination of such fabricated news

“comes within the framework of the media war targeting the reputation of the Iranian regime.”

And also Tehran’s supportive stance on the Palestinian cause.”

He pointed out that the news circulating about any of the Supreme Leader’s sons owning properties

or investments outside Iran is “completely untrue.”

Western criticism

He pointed out that the recent media campaign coincided

with escalating Western criticism of the Iranian position on the war in Gaza.

And attempts by some parties to “link Iran’s support for the Palestinian resistance

with allegations of financial corruption or foreign investments.”

Reports published on foreign websites and platforms claimed

that Meysam Khamenei had purchased a hotel in Budapest worth millions of dollars.

This is to use it as a legitimate front for its clandestine activities abroad

under the guise of funding relief operations in Gaza.

A malicious rumor

Iranian sources, according to the Fars News Agency, described it as

a “malicious rumor” targeting domestic and foreign public opinion.

Tehran confirmed that it will take legal action against those who promote such claims.

Reaffirming its unwavering stance of “supporting

the Palestinian people by all legitimate political and humanitarian means.”
