Paris, France – French radio station RTL reported on Thursday that authorities in France have arrested five more suspects.

This is part of the ongoing investigations into the Louvre Museum robbery.

Which shook the cultural and security circles in France this month.

BFM TV had previously reported that police had arrested another person in the capital, Paris.

On Wednesday evening, it is believed that he was present at the crime scene on October 19th.

It is the day on which works of art and jewelry worth tens of millions of euros were stolen from inside the museum.

The Paris prosecutor’s office indicated in a previous statement, according to Reuters, that two men arrested earlier had “partially admitted” to their involvement in the robbery.

Meanwhile, security services continue to track down the threads of the network, which is believed to be an international organization specializing in smuggling and selling stolen artwork.

According to reports, what was stolen from the Louvre Museum was a collection of rare artifacts and jewelry that were on display in a special wing.

Experts have valued the stolen items at approximately 88 million euros,

making the incident one of the largest art heists in modern French history.

The Louvre Museum houses thousands of artifacts and works of art from various civilizations.

It is one of the most famous and largest museums in the world,

and receives millions of visitors annually.

This incident has led to increased security measures inside the museum

and in other museums in Paris, in anticipation of any similar attempts.

French authorities, with the support of Interpol,

are continuing their investigations to locate

the stolen goods and apprehend the remaining individuals involved.

This comes at a time when calls are growing to strengthen

protection of European cultural heritage against organized crime networks.
