Abu Dhabi, UAE – All eyes will be on the final round of matches of the President’s Cup tomorrow, Sunday evening, which secures a ticket to next season’s AFC Champions League.

  • Al Wasl and Dibba: a confrontation with contrasting ambitions
  • Al Jazira hosts Ajman
  • Shared ambitions and clear messages

The coaches of the four teams participating in the final day’s matches expressed great ambitions to achieve victory.

And continue your journey in the “most expensive” tournament in Emirati football.

Tomorrow’s matches include Al Wasl’s match against its host Dibba, and Al Ain’s match against its counterpart Al Hamriyah.

While Ajman clashes with its host Al Jazira at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium.

Al Ain faces Al Hamriyah

Al Ain will host Al Hamriyah at Khalid bin Mohammed Stadium, in a match that appears easy in theory.

But the Serbian coach of the “leader”, Vladimir Ivic, stressed the importance of respecting the opponent, saying: “There is no easy match in football.

We will approach the match with full focus because winning the championship is the club’s main goal this season.”

Ivic confirmed that his team aspires to regain the title that has been absent from its coffers since the 2017-2018 season.

Pointing out his complete confidence in his players and their ability to handle the pressure of matches.

In contrast, Al Hamriyah coach Zoran Popovic expressed his pride in his team’s reaching this stage, saying: “We respect Al Ain,

But we believe in our ability to compete, and we will play with a high fighting spirit to prove that Al Hamriyah is capable of competing with the big teams.”

Al Wasl and Dibba: a confrontation with contrasting ambitions

Al Wasl faces a tough test against Dibba at Dibba Stadium, as the “Emperor” seeks to continue its brilliance in various competitions.

His coach, Luis Castro, said: “The match is very important, and we are aware of

the responsibility. We worked hard all week, and we will fight to win and qualify.”

As for Dibba coach Bruno Pereira, he confirmed that his team is aware of the importance

and value of the tournament.

Stressing his desire to achieve a positive result against a strong competitor like Al Wasl.

Al Jazira hosts Ajman

In a close and balanced match at the Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in the capital, Abu Dhabi,

Al Jazira meets Ajman in one of the toughest matches of this round.

Al Jazira coach Marino Pusic said his team is looking forward to reaching

the farthest stages of the tournament.

He added, “We have great ambitions to win this precious cup,

especially since the final will be held at our stadium.”

On the other hand, Ajman coach Goran Tufegdzic stressed his respect for the opponent.

He added: “The President’s Cup is a tournament with a special status,

and we will play with confidence and organization, striving to deliver a performance worthy of Ajman’s name.”

Shared ambitions and clear messages

The coaches’ statements agree that the President’s Cup represents more than just a local competition.

Rather, it is an opportunity to achieve an accomplishment that will be immortalized

in the clubs’ history and enhance their chances of participating in the Asian Cup.

With the technical levels being close, Sunday’s matches are expected to be very exciting

and include potential surprises.

This is a path that only those who have ambition and determination can take.
