England, Britain – The British newspaper The Telegraph revealed that the British government has granted its armed forces expanded powers. These powers allow them to shoot down drones immediately upon detection, without prior approval. This move reflects growing concern about unconventional air threats.

The newspaper said the decision came after a series of incidents involving unidentified drones approaching sensitive military installations and civilian airports, which the Defense Ministry considered a direct threat to national security.

Military sources confirmed that the new powers allow the army to use advanced electronic and jamming means. These means are used to disable or destroy drones before they reach their targets, as part of a new strategy dubbed the “Smart Air Shield.”

The report indicated that the British government is also working on creating an early warning system powered by artificial intelligence. This system aims to monitor the movements of small aircraft, which are increasingly being used for espionage, smuggling prohibited materials, and even terrorist operations.

Observers believe this move places Britain at the forefront of European countries taking “drone warfare” seriously. They also emphasize that new threats require bold and swift decisions to protect airspace.

London raises the alert flag, and the British Army receives “authorization to immediately respond” to any drone threatening the Kingdom’s skies.
