Dubai, United Arab Emirates – US President Donald Trump, from aboard Air Force One on Sunday, warned Russia of the possibility of sending long-range Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine if Moscow does not end the war on it soon.

“I might say to them, ‘Look, if this war doesn’t end, I’m going to send them Tomahawk missiles,'” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One as he headed to Israel.

He added: “The Tomahawk is an amazing weapon, and a very offensive weapon”. Frankly, Russia does not need that.

He continued: “I may tell them that if the war does not end – we may do it – we may not do it, but we may do it”. I think it’s appropriate to bring it up.”

Trump’s comments came after he spoke by phone earlier Sunday with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

“We will not hit civilians with Tomahawk.”

Zelensky said on Sunday that Kiev would only use Tomahawk missiles to achieve military goals, not to attack civilians in Russia.

Zelensky’s comments came on Fox News’ “Sunday Preving” program.

At a time when US President Donald Trump is considering whether to supply Kiev with American-made missiles.

Before that, the Ukrainian president said that he spoke with President Trump for the second time in two days to discuss strengthening Kiev’s air defense, resilience, and long-range capabilities.

He also asked French President Emmanuel Macron for air defense systems and missiles.

Zelensky added on the X platform: “We also discussed many details related to the energy sector.. President Trump is well aware of everything that is happening. We agreed to continue our dialogue, our teams are making preparations.

For its part, the Kremlin said on Sunday that Russia is deeply concerned about the possibility of the United States supplying Ukraine with Tomahawk missiles

He warned that the war had reached a dramatic moment with escalation from all sides.

Russia has recently intensified its nightly drone and missile attacks in Ukraine, particularly targeting energy facilities, as winter approaches.
