Mexican civil protection authorities reported heavy rains in 31 of its 32 states.

NEW MEXICO, Mexico – Local authorities in Mexico have announced that at least 23 people have died as a result of heavy rains this week in the vast majority of the country’s states.

Mexican civil protection authorities reported heavy rains in 31 out of 32 states.

It identified the states of Veracruz in the east, Querétaro and Hidalgo in the center, and San Luis Potosi in the north-central part of the country.

Considering that they are the most affected areas.

16 deaths were recorded in Hidalgo, in addition to 1,000 homes damaged, and five deaths and 11 missing people in Puebla state.

A boy in Veracruz state and a police officer in Querétaro also died.

“We are working to support residents, reopen roads, and restore power,” President Claudia Sheinbaum wrote on the X platform after holding meetings with local officials and members of her government.

For its part, the Mexican army announced that it would work to distribute aid in the affected areas.
