Moscow, Russia – Russia announced on Tuesday that it intercepted 184 Ukrainian drones overnight.

Meanwhile, Kiev continues to strike Russian territory with marches for the second day in a row. This marks one of the most severe attacks since the outbreak of war more than three years ago.

The Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement that its forces shot down 62 drones over the Kursk region. They also shot down 31 over the Belgorod region, which borders Ukraine.

This comes the day after the ministry announced the interception of 250 drones launched by Kiev.

The ministry’s statement on Tuesday said: “From 23:00 Moscow time on October 6 (October) to 07:00 Moscow time on October 7 (October), air defense systems destroyed 184 Ukrainian drones. Of these, 62 were over the territory of Kursk Province, 31 over the territory of Belgorod Province, and 30 over the territory of Nizhny Novgorod Province. Additionally, they destroyed 18 over the territory of Voronezh Province, and 13 over the waters of the Black Sea. Also, 6 marches occurred over the territory of Lipetsk Oblast and 5 marches over the territory of Kaluga Oblast. There were 4 marches over the territory of Tula Oblast, 3 drones over each of the territories of Rostov and Ryazan Oblasts, and 2 marches over the territories of each of Bryansk and Oryol Oblasts and the Republic of Crimea. Furthermore, 2 marches took place over Moscow and its suburbs, one of which was flying towards Moscow. Lastly, there was a march over the territory of Vologda Oblast.”

Russia announced that two people were killed yesterday, Monday, in a Ukrainian strike targeting the Belgorod border region.

This comes after the largest Ukrainian drone attack since the outbreak of war three years ago.

Both sides spoke of power outages.

Targeting energy facilities in both countries

Kiev threatened Moscow with increased strikes deep inside Russia and targeting oil facilities.

This is considered a legitimate response to Russia’s daily strikes on Ukrainian cities and energy facilities. These strikes sometimes deprive millions of people of electricity and heating.

Ukraine’s retaliatory strikes on Russian oil refineries in recent months have led to fuel shortages in many Russian regions. This has pushed oil prices higher.

This comes as Vladimir Zelensky confirmed that Washington has lifted the ban on purchasing US Patriot air defense missile systems.

But the financing problem still exists.

Zelensky said in a press briefing: “The Americans lifted the ban on purchasing Patriot missiles, not only missiles, but systems as well”. It’s just a matter of money.”

“Once the ban is lifted diplomatically, other shortcomings emerge,” he added. Therefore, I rely on frozen assets.”

According to the channel, Kyiv is still acquiring other systems, including Nasamams and Hawk.
