Gaza, Palestine – Despite the announcement of a peace plan in Gaza by US President Donald Trump, the Israeli bombing of Gaza continues.

Highlights
  • Tanks advance north and east of Gaza
  • Famine is coming
  • Suffocating siege

Media reported on Tuesday that Israeli warplanes fired a series of fire belts at southern Gaza City.

Meanwhile, the Israeli army intensified its bombing of homes in the south, center and north of the Gaza Strip.

Meanwhile, Israeli artillery renewed its shelling of the Al-Nasr neighborhood, west of Gaza City, and north of the Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip.

Tanks advance north and east of Gaza

In this context, Israeli tanks advanced on the eastern and northern axes of Gaza City, reaching Al-Jalaa Street in the city center.

It also penetrated into Al-Nasr Street near Al-Shifa Hospital, one of the most prominent health facilities in the Gaza Strip.

In parallel, other Israeli forces moved from the southern side to reach the university area.

In a move aimed at imposing a military cordon around Al-Shifa Hospital.

Famine is coming

In addition, the Deputy Executive Director of the United Nations World Food Programme, Karl Skau, announced that all residents of Gaza will be trapped in famine within a few weeks, unless the food supplies provided to the Strip are significantly increased.

Skau also added that only about 100 trucks loaded with food enter the besieged sector daily.

“This number is just a drop in the ocean, considering we’re talking about 2.2 million people,” he said.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) confirmed two weeks ago that about 1.4 million people face catastrophic levels of food insecurity.

The organization’s updated Global Report on Food Crises last month also officially announced, for the first time, famine in the Gaza Strip.

Suffocating siege

It is noteworthy that since the outbreak of the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza on October 7, 2023, Israeli forces have imposed a stifling siege on the Strip.

The Rafah crossing was also closed from the Palestinian side.

Since the beginning of September, most of Gaza City’s residents have been forced to flee south.

Despite UN warnings of a lack of safe spaces.
