Abu Dhabi, UAE – Dr. Anwar Gargash, Diplomatic Advisor to the President of the United Arab Emirates, affirmed that the country is committed to its approach based on “strategic independence.” He emphasized that national interest and regional stability are the primary drivers of Emirati policy, stating that this approach is far removed from “pre-packaged narratives.”
National interest takes precedence over “media campaigns”.
In a post on his official X platform on Wednesday, Gargash said: “The pre-packaged narratives promoted by some are inherently flimsy, while strategic independence remains the UAE’s unwavering and steadfast choice. Our compass is national interest, and the stability and prosperity of the region.” The diplomatic advisor described the media campaigns targeting the country as “transient phenomena,” asserting that they only reflect negatively on those who promote them. He added a striking statement reflecting the philosophy behind dealing with current challenges: “Crises liberate decision-making, they do not restrict it.”
Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week: An International Platform
These strong statements coincided with Dr. Gargash’s attendance at Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, where he praised the event, which was inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE. The opening ceremony was also attended by a distinguished international delegation. Dr. Gargash noted that this event, launched in 2008, has become a leading annual platform for promoting international cooperation in clean energy and addressing climate challenges. He emphasized its role in advancing innovative solutions that serve humanity and support a more sustainable future.
