Abu Dhabi, UAE – The Emirates Council for Balanced Development (ECDD) is participating in Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2026 with a dedicated pavilion showcasing a comprehensive portfolio of development programs and projects implemented across the UAE. These initiatives aim to enhance the quality of life in Emirati villages and promote inclusive and balanced development, particularly in rural areas.

The Council’s pavilion offers visitors a comprehensive overview of its economic, social, cultural, and tourism initiatives. These initiatives include rural development projects, support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in villages, and the empowerment of local industries and rural products. Furthermore, the pavilion features initiatives that promote sustainability and reliance on local resources.

Through its participation in this global event, the Council focuses on transforming rural areas into sustainable economic and tourism destinations. This is achieved by developing integrated facilities that create new economic opportunities for residents. The Council aims to support commercial and cultural activity, which will positively impact social stability and local growth.

This participation comes as part of the Emirates Council for Balanced Development’s commitment to highlighting its role in supporting the UAE’s sustainable development goals. It also aims to enhance integration among various government entities. This contributes to improving community services, empowering rural families, and opening broader horizons for balanced development across all the emirates.

Abdullah Al Kaabi, Director of Media and Government Communication at the Council, emphasized that participation in Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week stems from the Council’s commitment to supporting sustainable development and improving the quality of life in Emirati villages. He also noted that the pavilion showcases the “Emirates Villages” initiative and its support for productive families. In addition, it features agricultural and cultural products that reflect the diversity of local heritage.

The Council’s pavilion offers visitors a comprehensive interactive experience. This is achieved through smart display platforms and interactive screens showcasing live models of existing projects and future development plans. It also includes a balanced development map, successful examples of emerging producers and productive families, and projects with sustainable economic and social impact.
