Abu Dhabi, UAE – His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Dubai, was briefed on the progress of the Jumeirah Beach 1 development project. This project is one of the vital initiatives being implemented by Dubai Municipality as part of its comprehensive plans to develop the infrastructure of public beaches. The project aims to enhance the experience of residents and visitors and boost the quality of life in the emirate.
During the visit, His Highness received a detailed explanation from His Excellency Engineer Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Municipality, regarding the project’s latest developments. The project, which spans 1,400 meters, has reached over 95% completion and is scheduled to reopen to the public at the beginning of February, following the completion of its recreational and service facilities.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed emphasized that Dubai is not only designing its future but also setting new standards for sustainable urban planning. These high-quality projects focus on people and their quality of life. His Highness stated that the goal is to build a smart city with advanced and sustainable infrastructure. His plans also include the creation of world-class beaches with integrated urban designs and services. These plans guarantee a distinctive experience for residents and visitors, reflecting the lifestyle Dubai has established as a city that prioritizes human well-being.
The Jumeirah Beach 1 development project aligns with the objectives of Dubai’s Quality of Life Strategy 2033 and Dubai Urban Plan 2040. This is achieved by enhancing open public spaces and promoting healthy lifestyles. The project aims to develop the coastline and improve the efficiency of the infrastructure.
It includes integrated service facilities, pedestrian, cycling, and jogging paths, and areas for play and beach activities. The project also features parking for vehicles and buses, and smart services powered by artificial intelligence. Furthermore, it offers sustainable engineering solutions that enhance the beach’s resilience to climate change and presents more than 15 investment opportunities to support economic and tourism activity in Dubai.
