Abu Dhabi, UAE – The third edition of the UAE – Japan Falconry Programme kicks off on Monday.

It is organized by the Emirates Falconers Club, within the framework of the agreement signed with the Japanese Inpex-Godco Foundation.

The agreement aims to enhance friendship programmes, student exchange and cultural cooperation between falconers in the UAE and Japan.

This year’s edition will be held in Al Ain under the slogan “Building Heritage Bridges Through Falcons” and will continue until January 8.

It also confirms the status of falconry as an effective means of cultural communication between peoples.

The third edition complements the success achieved by the previous two editions.

The first was in Al Ain in January 2024, and the second in Ichihara, Japan, in February 2025.

The 2026 edition will be held in the Ramah area of Al Ain, as part of a desert camp near the Al Ain Hills Resort.

This was with the participation of Emirati and Japanese falconers, students from the Mohammed bin Zayed School of Falconry and Desert physiognomy, and students from Japanese falconry.

In addition to students from Sheikh Zayed Private Academy for Boys, and a number of experts and specialists in the field of falconry and the conservation of birds of prey.

The program includes a comprehensive schedule of theoretical and applied activities, including an introduction to the types of falcons used in traditional Arabian falconry, and practical training sessions using plates.

In addition to hunting trips practiced in accordance with the ethical rules of sustainable falconry, they include hunting bustards and desert rabbits using falcons and Arabian greyhounds.

In addition to trace activities and the art of desert physiognomy.

The program also includes workshops on traditional handicrafts related to falconry, and the design of some of its tools.

In addition to cultural sessions at the Majlis (Hadira) featuring Emirati sana’, Arabic coffee, sniper stories, and traditional cooking activities.
