Dubai, UAE – Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the resumption of intercity bus services to and from the emirates of Sharjah and Ajman,

Highlights
  • Technical readiness and weather conditions
  • Precautionary measures
  • Appreciating cooperation
  • Towards a sustainable mobility system

enabling the public to continue their daily commutes smoothly.

This decision aims to reconnect the vital public transport network between the emirates of the country.

This ensures that the needs of passengers and visitors who rely on these routes on a regular basis are met.

Technical readiness and weather conditions

In this regard, the authority confirmed that the resumption of service came

after the improvement of the weather conditions and the return of conditions to normal in full.

The technical and operational teams continuously monitored weather developments.

In addition to ensuring the readiness of the bus fleet and the safety

of external roads before resuming operations;

This is to ensure safe and reliable journeys for all users.

Precautionary measures

It is worth noting that the authority had made a decision to temporarily suspend the service;

This is a precautionary measure aimed at preserving the safety of passengers

in light of the weather fluctuations that the country has witnessed.

Accordingly, the Authority clarified that its operational decisions are

always based on a comprehensive risk assessment in coordination with the relevant authorities.

This enhances public safety standards in the transportation sector.

Appreciating cooperation

For its part, the Authority thanked the customers for their understanding

and cooperation during the exceptional shutdown period.

In a related context, the authority called on the public to

follow official channels to obtain immediate updates;

Especially in emergency situations or weather-related developments,

which makes it easier for passengers to plan their trips in advance and avoid any delays.

Towards a sustainable mobility system

In conclusion, the authority stressed its continued efforts to improve

the efficiency of the intercity bus network.

This contributes to supporting the sustainable mobility system in Dubai and the UAE in general.

Therefore, the commitment to providing a comfortable and safe transportation

experience remains the primary driver of all the Authority’s current and future plans.
