Abu Dhabi, UAE – The General Authority of Civil Aviation in the UAE stressed the importance of the step taken by the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council to adopt the decision to establish the “Gulf Civil Aviation Authority” and choose the UAE as its headquarters.

She pointed out that the move reflects a strategic direction to enhance Gulf integration in the air transport system, and push it towards more coordinated and homogeneous horizons.

This creates unprecedented growth opportunities for this vital sector, not only at the Gulf level, but also at the regional and international levels.

His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, said that the approval of the establishment of the Gulf Civil Aviation Authority represents a pivotal milestone in the process of joint Gulf action.

He added that it reflects the unified vision of the GCC countries towards building an integrated aviation system that supports trade, tourism and economic development.

The General Authority of Civil Aviation also affirmed its commitment to providing various forms of support necessary for the success of the Gulf Authority’s work.

In addition to actively contributing to achieving the goals for which it was established.

In a way that enhances the status of Gulf aviation and consolidates its influential presence on the international scene.

The Gulf Civil Aviation Authority aims to raise the level of joint work between GCC countries in the field of civil aviation by enhancing legislative and operational harmony and integration among member states.

To support the achievement of the highest levels of safety, security and efficiency in air transport operations.

It also enhances the ability to keep pace with rapid technical developments in the global aviation industry.
