Dubai, UAE – The Ministry of Culture launched the training program to update the data model of the Statistical Framework Project for the Creative Economy, in partnership with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the Federal Center for Competitiveness and Statistics, and with the active participation of the Ministry of Economy and Tourism and statistical centers at the country level.

The launch of the program comes as part of the UAE’s efforts to enhance its statistical capabilities related to monitoring data from the culture, arts and creative industries sector, based on the organization’s unified global methodology in a number of countries around the world.

The training program provides experts from the organization, as part of a comprehensive plan aimed at improving methodologies for collecting and analyzing data and developing national indicators related to culture, arts, and the creative economy.

The updated statistical model contributes to generating more accurate and comprehensive data.

This enables monitoring of the sector’s national performance and measuring its contribution to supporting economic growth, enhancing cultural sustainability, and raising the country’s global competitiveness.

This is within the framework of the National Strategy for Cultural and Creative Industries, which was launched in 2021.

With the aim of promoting the cultural and creative industries sector, enhancing its size and potential, and making it one of the top 10 economic industries in the country.

In addition to increasing its contribution to reach 5% of the GDP by 2031
