Dubai, United Arab Emirates – Experts in iron products industry systems said that digital transformation and the use of artificial intelligence systems will provide seven benefits in these industries, representing a new transitional phase for the sector.
On the sidelines of the Middle East Iron and Steel Conference and Exhibition 2025, which recently concluded in Dubai, they explained that these benefits include: improving productivity and operational efficiency, supporting security and safety plans, raising sustainability indicators, expanding production control processes, predictive maintenance, creating databases that support decision-making, and enhancing cybersecurity in companies.
Imran Al-Laham, Sales Director for the Middle East and Africa at Prime Tellez, said, “The UAE is one of the countries witnessing a remarkable acceleration in adopting comprehensive digital transformation and artificial intelligence initiatives in the iron and steel industries sector”.
He explained that “the most prominent benefits resulting from digital transformation processes and the adoption of artificial intelligence systems are focused on improving productivity and operational efficiency, raising sustainability indicators, creating databases that support appropriate decision-making in production processes, and providing systems that enable predictive maintenance in production lines.”
He added, “Digital transformation is proceeding gradually in the iron industry in the region, with some challenges facing some companies regarding the cost of transformation, and a lack of awareness among other companies in the Middle East and Africa regarding the feasibility of spending on transformation operations.”
For his part, Michael Rion, Chief Commercial Officer of the Emirati iron production group Emtel, said, “The group is implementing extensive digital transformation operations and adopting artificial intelligence systems, which provide multiple benefits in giving production processes further improvement in operational efficiency processes”.
He explained that “the group is implementing, for example, 30 initiatives during the current year for digital transformation and the adoption of artificial intelligence in areas related to energy saving, supporting sustainability and cybersecurity, in addition to initiatives to support security and safety standards, data provision and oversight.”

In the same context, the CEO of Robosoft, Karan Khmeika, said, “The UAE is witnessing an acceleration in digital transformation processes and the adoption of artificial intelligence systems in the iron industry sector, which allows for an improvement in productivity and operational efficiency, expanding production control processes, and creating databases that support decision-making.” And sensor systems for required maintenance appointments”.
For his part, the Technical Managing Director of «Hadid Al-Ashry» Company, Eng. Ahmed Hammam, considered that “digital transformation initiatives and the adoption of artificial intelligence systems in the iron and steel industry sector are important future requirements witnessed by the sector, especially in light of providing a qualitative transitional phase for the sector, whether in terms of the benefits of improving productivity and operational efficiency, increasing production rates, or supporting the expansion in implementing sustainability plans, rationalizing consumption and providing comprehensive databases, And the transformation into more expansive automation systems.”
