Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – G42 welcomed the White House’s decision to allow the export of advanced semiconductors for artificial intelligence to the group.

In a step that represents a qualitative shift from the planning stage to the implementation stage within the artificial intelligence corridor between the UAE and the United States.

This is within the framework of cooperation that reflects the depth of mutual trust and enshrines the shared commitment to developing a reliable and scalable artificial intelligence infrastructure.

This decision contributes to accelerating the implementation of ongoing strategic projects in the UAE, most notably the Stargate Emirates project.

It is a one-gigawatt artificial intelligence computing complex implemented by G42 for OpenAI in partnership with Oracle, Cisco, NVIDIA, and SoftBank Group.

Stargate Emirates is part of the broader project.

It is a five-gigawatt UAE–US AI aggregator designed to meet the requirements of AI infrastructure and provide computing services while reducing data processing time in the region.

In addition, the decision strengthens cooperation with the most prominent American giants in the field of massive computing and chip manufacturing.

Including Microsoft, AMD, Qualcomm, Cerebras, and others.

The granting of licenses for these advanced segments is based on a common operational framework developed through close cooperation between the two sides to enable the safe global spread of American technologies.

The operation of these chips will be subject to the Regulated Technology Environment (RTE) framework.

It is a leading global technology and compliance framework that the G42 has pioneered.

It was approved in accordance with the guidelines of the US Department of Commerce and the Office of Industry and Security.

A new standard for computing

Commenting on the announcement, Peng Xiao, CEO of G42 Group, said: “This announcement represents a critical moment for us and our partners as we witness the transition from planning to implementation. The shared infrastructure model provides a new standard for secure, high-performance computing that meets the needs of both countries. Everything we develop in the UAE, we will continue to match with its equivalent in the United States, to maintain consistency and enhance confidence at every stage.”

The UAE remains the only country in the region that has begun implementing infrastructure of this size.

In accordance with US regulatory frameworks, export controls and relevant governance protocols.

It is worth noting that the G42 operates an artificial intelligence infrastructure that includes three of the best supercomputers listed in the top 500 globally, and ranked second and third in the Middle East, in addition to the supercomputer Maximus 01, which was recently announced in New York and is ranked twentieth globally.

G42’s growing infrastructure in the artificial intelligence sector includes a presence in Abu Dhabi, France, and several locations in the United States, including California, Minnesota, Texas, and New York.
