Dubai, United Arab Emirates – Strata Manufacturing, Mubadala Investment’s leading national manufacturer of composite aircraft body parts, has won a huge strategic stake in the global supply chain by signing a new agreement with Airbus to manufacture ailerons for all models of the Airbus A320 single-aisle aircraft.
Under the agreement, Strata will be able to meet approximately 50% of the European giant’s future demand for these ailerons.
At a time when the total expected demand exceeds 7,000 aircraft.
This gives the Emirati company the right to manufacture an estimated half of this quantity in its first contract of its kind in this category of aircraft.
The signing of this strategic agreement strengthened the position of the “Made in the Emirates” brand.
This huge contract will be implemented through a new production line at the company’s facility in Al Ain, characterized by a localization rate of 50% of Emirati engineering and technical personnel.
The signing ceremony took place during the 19th edition of the Dubai Airshow, held at Dubai World Central from November 17 to 21, 2025, with the attendance of senior leaders from both sides.
The contract was signed by Sarah Abdullah Al-Maamari, Acting CEO of Strata, and Nicola Coombs, Vice President of Airframe Wing Procurement at Airbus.
A new pivotal step
Commenting on this achievement, Ismail Ali Abdullah, Managing Director of Strata, stressed that the agreement represents a new pivotal step in the partnership process that has extended with Airbus for 17 years.
He stressed that Strata has succeeded in establishing itself as a reliable global supplier thanks to the high quality of its products and the efficiency of its human resources.
Which contributed to strengthening the presence of the UAE industry in the global aviation sector.
He considered that the new contract constitutes an important milestone that expands the company’s portfolio and supports its leadership in the advanced manufacturing sector by entering strongly into the single-aisle aircraft market.
Wouter van Weersch, Airbus Executive Vice President of International Affairs, praised the outstanding performance and commitment shown by Strata and Mubadala throughout the long years of the partnership.
He also described them as the ideal partner to take over this new package of manufacturing businesses.
He stressed that this agreement is not limited to the commercial aspect only, but rather enhances the UAE’s vital presence in Airbus’ global manufacturing network and supports the strategy of increasing the production of aircraft components on an international level by relying on reliable partners.
