Opening of the 17th edition of the Abu Dhabi World Championship for Professional Jiu-Jitsu

Opening of the 17th edition of the Abu Dhabi World Championship for Professional Jiu-Jitsu

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – The 17th edition of the Abu Dhabi World Championship for Professional Jiu-Jitsu has opened.

Which is held under the patronage of Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

This will take place at Mubadala Arena in Zayed Sports City in Abu Dhabi, and will continue until November 22.

Sheikh Zayed bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan witnessed part of the opening day’s competitions.

He also honored a number of winners in the amateur category.

He stressed that the tournament represents a pioneering platform for discovering promising talents and creating champions, and embodies the vision of the wise leadership to continue developing the sport of Jiu-Jitsu and supporting its champions.

In addition to strengthening the UAE’s presence on the global sports scene.

He pointed out that the great interest this sport receives in the country reflects the values it instills in the young generation, such as discipline, determination, and willpower.This will contribute to building a generation capable of representing the UAE in various continental and international forums.

More than 10,000 male and female players from various countries of the world are participating in the 17th edition of the Abu Dhabi World Championship for Professional Jiu-Jitsu.

This is to compete in the largest and most important tournament on the global jiu-jitsu agenda, which began on Tuesday in the amateur category.

This is followed by the Abu Dhabi International Jiu-Jitsu Festival, dedicated to children, buds and cubs, which will be held from November 13 to 15.

In addition to the parajujitsu competitions on November 13, then the junior and youth categories on November 16 and 17, and the masters categories on November 18 and 19.

The competitions will conclude with professional fights on November 20, 21 and 22.
