Abdullah Nasser Lootah, Assistant Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Competitiveness and Knowledge Exchange and Chairman of the National Committee for Sustainable Development Goals, stressed that the launch of the “Preparing Leaders for the Sustainable Development Goals 2030” program comes within the UAE’s efforts to support efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals nationally and globally.

This consolidates its position as a global center for exchanging knowledge in the field of sustainable development and supporting the UN Agenda 2030.

For his part, Jeffrey Sachs, President of the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network, said that the Sustainable Development Goals Leaders Preparation Program contributes to supporting government leaders to confront the major challenges of our time.

He pointed out that achieving sustainable development requires leaders who think systematically, plan effectively, and enhance trust across borders and sectors.

He added that this program in the UAE strengthens these capabilities and builds a generation of leaders who will achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and work for a more peaceful and prosperous world.

He said that the Sustainable Development Goals Academy, affiliated with the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network “SDSN”, is honored to support the UAE Government Knowledge Exchange Office and the UAE National Committee for Sustainable Development Goals in this distinguished program.

As part of its first track, the program witnessed the organization of intensive dialogue and interactive sessions over five days, which discussed the most prominent axes of sustainable development and future leadership.
