Dubai, United Arab Emirates – Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Emirates Water Foundation, announced that the projects implemented by the Foundation in the Federal Republic of Tanzania have exceeded their desired goals and that the number of beneficiaries of the Foundation’s projects has reached 1,024,000 beneficiaries.

Projects implemented by the Emirates Water Foundation, in cooperation with the Emirates Red Crescent Authority in the Federal Republic of Tanzania, provide clean and potable water to residents of governorates, rural areas and villages throughout Tanzania.

This is done by drilling new artesian wells and maintaining existing wells.

The announcement came while Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer chaired the third meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Emirates Water Foundation for the year 2025, in the presence of board members.

The Council discussed the plan to launch the fifth session of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Water Prize during the last quarter of this year.

innovative technologies

The Emirates Water Foundation is supervising the award, which has a total prize pool of one million dollars.

It aims to encourage innovative projects and technologies to produce, desalinate and purify water using renewable energy sources.

Such as solar energy, wind energy, biomass, hydropower, osmotic energy, and geothermal energy.

Al Tayer stressed the commitment of “Saqya Emirates” to strengthening the UAE’s position at the forefront of countries in the world in humanitarian work.

He pointed out that the number of beneficiaries of the Foundation’s projects has reached about 15 million people in 37 countries.

By implementing sustainable water projects, from the launch of the Foundation in 2015 until today.

Saqia Emirates works to alleviate the suffering of communities most affected by the global water crisis, and stimulate the role of innovation in finding sustainable solutions to the problem of water scarcity.

It cooperates with relevant bodies and organizations locally and globally to implement humanitarian initiatives and development projects aimed at providing clean and safe water to millions of people suffering from water scarcity.
