Muscat, Oman – The Abu Dhabi Modern Sailing Team concluded its participation in the 2025 Sailing Manufacturer Week.

This was achieved by winning 6 colorful medals in various categories, after a remarkable performance by Emirati sailors who proved their worth in the competitions held with the participation of more than 100 sailors from various countries of the region and the world in the Sultanate of Oman.

The team’s results confirmed the Emirati school’s superiority in modern sailing.

Abdullah Al-Zubaidi won the gold medal in the Elka 4 category.

While Marwa Al Hammadi won the gold medal in the Elka 4 category for girls, Al Yazia Al Hammadi won the silver medal in the same category.

In the Elka 7 category, Mohammed Al Hammadi won the silver medal, while Khalifa Al Rumaithi won a bronze medal in the Optimist category, and another bronze medal in the Team Race team race in Optimist as well.

Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Director of the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Academy at the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, praised the team’s achievement.

He stressed that the results reflect the significant level of development achieved by the academy’s training and qualification programmes.

He added that the team’s participation in Al Musannah Week comes within the strategic plan aimed at preparing a new generation of Emirati sailors capable of competing in international tournaments, and interaction with different sailing schools enhances the players’ experiences and develops their technical and physical performance.

The Sailing Manufacturer’s Week is one of the most prominent maritime events in the region.

It combines sports competitions with educational and cultural activities that contribute to spreading the culture of sailing among segments of society.

The presence of marine sports has also become established as part of the authentic Gulf identity.
