Cairo, Egypt – Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aty met with Elizabeth Dibble, Director General of the Multinational Force and Observers in Sinai (MFO), to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between the two sides. They also discussed issues related to the force’s mission and its role in supporting peace and stability in the region.
Abdel-Aati praised the role played by the Multinational Force and Observers (MFO) since its establishment following the signing of the Egyptian-Israeli Peace Treaty, emphasizing that its presence is a pivotal element in supporting the pillars of security and stability. He also commended the close coordination between the MFO and the relevant Egyptian authorities. He stressed the importance of continued support for the MFO’s operations and enabling it to perform its tasks effectively, in addition to praising the contributions of the participating countries in this regard.
For her part, Elizabeth Dibble expressed her appreciation for the constructive cooperation with Egypt. She affirmed the force’s commitment to continued coordination and consultation with Egyptian authorities to enhance its mission. She also emphasized the role of this cooperation in supporting stability in Sinai and the surrounding region.
