Dubai, United Arab Emirates – Dubai Chambers organized the “Dubai-Estonia Business Forum”, in cooperation with the Estonian government and the UAE-Estonian Business Council, with the aim of expanding horizons of trade and investment cooperation and stimulating innovation and joint work between advanced digital economy systems in Dubai and Estonia.

This is in light of the growth in bilateral trade relations, as the value of non-oil trade between Dubai and Estonia increased by an annual rate of 10% to reach 542.3 million dirhams in 2024, compared to 494.5 million dirhams in 2023.

The number of active Estonian companies registered as members of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce at the end of last year also grew by 37% year-on-year.

Meanwhile, 15 new Estonian companies joined the Chamber’s membership during the first half of this year.

This brought the total number of active Estonian companies registered as members of the Chamber to 95 companies by the end of last June.

A statement issued said that the forum, which was held at the headquarters of the Dubai Chambers, was attended by the Minister of Justice and Digital Affairs of Estonia, Lisa Lee Bakosta, the Director General of the Dubai Chambers, Mohammed Ali Rashid Lootah, and the Estonian Ambassador to the UAE, Maria Belovas, while the forum attracted a group of officials and representatives of the business communities in Dubai and Estonia.

The discussions addressed ways to enhance cooperation between Dubai companies and their Estonian counterparts across a wide range of sectors.

Including advanced technology, digital economy, renewable energy, automotive, agricultural technology, construction, logistics, and the maritime sector.

“Achieving digital progress depends on collaboration and mutual trust, which is embodied in the Dubai-Estonia Business Forum,” said Bakosta. “The UAE’s commitment to fostering innovation across various sectors aligns with Estonia’s importance to technology as an effective tool for boosting the economy and improving quality of life.”

For his part, Lootah said: “The growing relations between Dubai and Estonia constitute a solid foundation for achieving our common economic goals, and we are committed to strengthening bilateral partnerships across various vital sectors”.
